Lisa Young - Potclays Emerging Makers Award Winner 2011

Ceramicist and designer Lisa Young is the first person to be awarded our Emerging Makers Award. 2011 was the first year for this new award which celebrates new designers who have recently graduated from education.
Often inspired by futuristic architecture and the perfection of computer based and manufactured design, Lisa introduces a softer and more organic approach by hand decorating her ceramic vessels. By exploring the boundaries between the hard edged perfection and the more random organic shapes, she creates designs where the natural world and advancing technology may fuse.
