My firingsculptures are about the inconstancy of existence, about being in the world, about the dream, the realization and about everything’s fragility.
I have always been on the move, soft clay and the transient Fire being my instruments and a tool for understanding. Now I construct enormous sculptures always different and unforeseeable, inspired by the places where I make them. The glowing sculpture brings the moment alive and bear witness to its fleeting presence and it offers the possibility of being drawn into the interplay of the elements.
Since the first firingsculpture 1994 in Denmark I have made 18, in Iceland, Ireland, Sweden, Italy, Berlin, Australia, Slovenia and Denmark. In every new work I am pushing and developing my expression.
