27 June – 15 September

Opening of the exhibition Saturday, 6pm 28th June – Everyone is welcome.

Three practices that combine ceramics and sound: Will Cobbing, Abi Haywood and Copper Sounds.

Presenting video and ceramic sculpture in immersive multimedia installations, each artist explores how the medium of clay can be activated through performance and technology, treating sound—like clay—as a malleable material.

The exhibition in the main gallery in the Aberystwyth Arts Centre will be ‘From Ceramic to Sound’ with the amazing experimental sound installation by Copper Sounds (England), Will Cobbing (England) startling videos based on ceramics and performance and a ceramic and voice installation by Abi Haywood (Wales) ‘The Môr the Merrier’ inspired by Dylan Thomas’s 1954 play ‘Undermilk Wood’, but updated with a few twists.

This major exhibition curated by MoiraVincentelli and Ffion Rhys coincides with the International Ceramics Festival held at the Arts Centre biennially taking place on 27th -29th June this year, giving a platform for ceramics through demonstrations, kiln builds, lectures, films, exhibitions and hands-on activities.
