Kaan Canduran is a professor at ceramic departments in Hacettepe University and Aziz Baha Örken is an assistant professor at ceramic departments in Afyon Kocatepe University. Both conduct workshops, demonstrating, exhibiting their works and participating in international symposiums and art events. They are experienced in alternative firing techniques (salt firing, raku, wood firing etc.).
For ICF 2023, they will create a human form sculpture with stoneware clay, around 6,5 feet high. The sculpture will be fired in a detachable kiln construction built on site – a type of tulip kiln. The sculpture will be fired for 8-10 hours and will be open around 1200 degrees.
